Scarecrow’s Annoying Habits

I have known Scarecrow for many years now and over that time I have picked up on his many annoying habits. The first habit that drives me crazy is when he breaths. He does not breath threw his mouth it is always threw his nose. It doesn’t produce a nasally sound; it is more of a deep breathing that everyone around him can hear. Next is the way he eats; he eats very slow and is always the last to finish a meal. This does not bother me, it is the fact that he cannot eat with his mouth closed. While eating all that can be heard is smacking. When he eats cereal it is even worse, he will continually slurp. Scarecrow will also leave the light on in his room when ever he leaves along with the TV. This does not bother me as much as the rest of his bad habits, but I am always the one to turn them off so that we are not using unnecessary electricity. Finally, there is the cleaning aspect, but I think I have mad it clear how much this bothers me.

Scarecrow Goes Broke Back

After Scarecrow gets home from a night of drinking, one of his favorite things to do is go into the basement with T-Lew and listen to his shitty country that no one knows. The floors in our house are wood and very thin, so when he decides to do this I can hear the music clearly as well as him singing. I lived in a fraternity house last year so I am used to noise like this at three in the morning, but I am curious to know what the two of them are doing down there. The only thing that comes to mind is that they are doing something along the lines of Broke Back Mountain. When I told Scarecrow this he got pouty faced and didn’t know why I thought he was gay, and then pretended like he couldn’t remember being in the basement at 3am.

Scarecrow Has a Party

Over Thanksgiving break everyone we knew from high school comes back in town. With the exception of about three people, I don’t want to see any one from high school. The first night people came in town Smitty and Scarecrow have people over. It was also a girls 21st birthday so they were also having a party for her; I was ok with this. The next morning the house was trashed. Smitty and Scarecrow agree that Smitty will mop the floor and wipe down the counter tops. Scarecrow just has to pick up all the trash in the kitchen and the basement. He picks up the kitchen and only what is on the beer pong table down stairs. Smitty takes the next hour doing is part of the cleaning and finishing what Scarecrow didn’t do. After this we agree that we do not want to have a party the rest of the week. Our house has become the default party house and there is too much cleaning to have a party every night. That night Scarecrow decides to invite people over without telling us. Smitty and I go to the bars furious because we know that he will not clean the mess in the morning. The next morning Scarecrow gets up and picks up what’s in the kitchen. He attempts to wipe down the counter, doesn’t clean the floor, and leaves the basement a mess. The when he took the trash out, the trashcans were by the street. Instead of bringing them back to the house he just left them there. Smitty said that if Scarecrow does a horrible job of cleaning he would say something to him, so I am waiting to see what happens to night. I just know that I do not want to live with Scarecrow next year.

Scarecrow Follows His Brother

Siblings always look up to their older brother or sister and in Scarecrow’s case it is no different. Scarecrow has had the same jobs as his brother ever since graduating high school. Scarecrow’s brother began working as a lifeguard so Scarecrow became a lifeguard at the same pool. His brother is a high school basketball coach and so is Scarecrow. I think being the high school basketball coach is partly following his brother but also he wants to hold on to the high school memories of when he played. I don’t know Scarecrow’s brother all that well but it seems that they are the same but his brother has more self motivation. He went to UofA but graduated in five years with a major just a few steps higher than sign language. His brother got the jobs on his own; Scarecrow only got them because of his brother. Another differentiating factor is motivation, Scarecrow just won’t go to work because he doesn’t feel like it and he won’t even call in. With the lifeguarding position his brother was the boss so he got away with not coming in, on the other hand, with the basketball position there is a higher authority Scarecrow has to answer to, so things are going to be a little different. It will be interesting to see what happens when he misses their first 6am practice because he was too drunk the night before. I just don’t see how his brother puts up with the things Scarecrow does.

Scarecrow the Coach

Scarecrow’s brother has been coaching basketball at our high school for about the past four or five years. After Scarecrow graduated he followed in his brothers footsteps and began to help coach as well. Last year I don’t think he was getting paid to coach but he would go to the practices and travel to the games with the team. This year I think he has been promoted to the freshman coach. However, this is Scarecrow so I cannot be too sure what his title really is. He makes it sound like he is the coach by telling me that he is in charge of the final cuts, but who really knows.

Laundry

Over the past four months of living with Scarecrow I have not once seen him do laundry. I know that he does not use our washer, so I can only assume that he takes dirty clothes home. The reason for taking his clothes home is probably so that his mom can do it for him. Though this would be a nice luxury, I don’t think he knows how to do his laundry on his own.

Scarecrow Misses More Class

There were four consecutive weeks where I don’t think Scarecrow ever went to class. It began the week of his birthday. He had his power hour one night and then his actual birthday the next night, so he decided to sleep through his classes on both of those days. The next week was the Reckless Kelly concert. After drinking that night he was in no shape to go to class the next day. The third week was T-Lew’s birthday. The same events that took place on his birthday week occurred here as well; T-Lew’s power hour and then actual birthday. During the fourth week of his absenteeism was because of a well deserved vacation. Scarecrow and T-Lew went to Colorado to visit a friend from high school. They left on a Friday and came home on Monday; missing their Monday classes. Apparently at Pima actually going to class is not necessary.
